Social Design Group
Founder
Dr. Yoshiharu Maeno is a founder management consultant and scientist of
Social Design Group. He is also a principal researcher at NEC Corporation.
He received his B.S. and M.S. in Physics from the University of Tokyo,
and his Ph.D. in Business Science from Tsukuba University, Japan. He studied
quantum electronics, nonlinear physics, and statistical physics. Dr. Tadao
Shimizu, now a professor emeritus of Tokyo University, was his mentor.
He also studied chance discovery, marketing, cognitive sciences, and statistics.
Dr. Yukio Ohsawa, a former associate professor of Tsukuba University and
now a professor of Tokyo University, was his mentor. Since then, he has
been making productive collaborative researches with Professor Ohsawa for
many years. As a computational social scientist, he seeks to solve socio-economic
problems by modeling, forecasting, and controlling stochastic temporal
behaviours of non-linearly interacting components, the diffusion and reaction
phenomena in innovative social organisations, and the latent dynamic structures
behind human interactions and communications. He is a member of the American
Physical Society (APS), International Network for Social Network Analysis
(INSNA) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
